Questions
and Answers about Humanitarian Aid International Consulting
Q:
Are there other relief organizations providing the kind
of infrastructure assistance that HAIC is developing?
A:
No. We are the only relief organization that is responding
to the need for a medical infrastructure that can be quickly
deployed—within 24-48 hours of a disaster—and
set up immediately—within 3 hours of reaching the
location.
Q:
Does HAIC work with other relief agencies?
A:
Yes. We are there to support local and international relief
agencies in their work, we do not replace them or duplicate
their services. We can work under their auspices if desired,
or can function in a coordinating role between agencies
enabling everyone to meet the goal of providing immediate
assistance to victims of disasters.
Q:
When was HAIC formed?
A:
HAIC is a brand new nonprofit organization that was launched
to meet the gap of medical infrastructure in a disaster
and decided to form an organization to meet that need.
Q.
How does HAIC provide these medical complexes for free?
A. HAIC
depends on donations to purchase the medical complexes
and then in turn donates them to the affected area.
Q.
Does HAIC do other things?
A.
Yes, HAIC also works with partners to provide disease/syndromic
surveillance systems, training, exercises, strategic planning
and emergency response consulting.
Q:
If I want to become involved, what can I do?
A:
Well first of all, this is a unique opportunity to participate
in a truly visionary endeavor. The needs are tremendous
and to say that your participation will result in saving
lives is not an overstatement. HAIC needs in-kind donations,
cash, and non-clinical logistical support.
